DEVELOPING A WEB APPLICATION FOR PURCHASING BOOKS AND OFFICE ACCESSORIES

Abstract

The main objective of the project is to create an online book store that allows users to search and purchase books online based on title, author subject, or other office accessories. The selected books are displayed in a cart and are processed when the user confirms their order and payment method. Using this website the user can purchase books and accessories online instead of going to a brick and mortar location and consume time and resources to find the desired item. Online Book Store is an online web application where the customer can purchase books and accessories online. Through a web browser, the customers can search for a book by its title or author, later add it to the shopping cart, and finally purchase using a credit card transaction. The user can log in using his account details or new customers can set up an account very quickly. They should give the details of their name, contact number, and shipping address. The user can also give feedback to a book by giving ratings on a score of five. The books are divided into many categories based on subjects like Business, Science Fiction, Literature, Comics etc. The Online Book Store Website provides customers with online shopping through a web browser. Customer can create, sign in to their account, place items into a shopping cart, and purchase using their preferred payment method The Administrator will have additional functionalities when compared to the common user. They can add, delete, and update the book details, book categories, and member information and confirm a placed order. This application is developed mainly using Java programming language for the backend and JavaScript for the front end. The framework of those languages (Quarkus, React.js) is also utilized for developing this project.
