Abstract: | This quantitative study explores the perceptions of high school students concerning the motivational impact of Quizizz-based gamification strategies on English vocabulary learning. The primary focus is on how these digital strategies affect students' engagement and enthusiasm for learning in a non-native English-speaking context, specifically among tenth graders in a prominent Vietnamese high school in the Mekong Delta. The research utilizes a structured questionnaire to gather data on students' motivational levels and their perceptions of the gamified learning environment. Initial findings indicate that the use of Quizizz enhances engagement and enjoyment, key factors in motivating students to learn and retain new vocabulary. The study also assesses the influence of gamified elements like immediate feedback and competitive features on student motivation. The implications of this research are significant for educators seeking to integrate technology and gamification in language instruction effectively. By highlighting specific aspects of gamification that resonate with students, this study contributes to better-informed, more focused educational strategies that align with contemporary learning preferences and technological advancements. |
