Abstract: | This research examines high school students' views on the effectiveness of TikTok videos for learning English vocabulary. As social media becomes more embedded in educational contexts, TikTok offers a distinctive opportunity for engaging young learners in language development. This study assesses the advantages and challenges of leveraging TikTok videos in vocabulary education among students in the 11th grade at Binh Thuy High School in Can Tho City, Vietnam. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 119 students with a questionnaire adapted from prior studies on digital learning tools. Results suggest that TikTok enhances student engagement and motivation, supports vocabulary acquisition through engaging and interactive content, and improves pronunciation and understanding. However, issues such as the quality of content, potential distractions, and concerns over data privacy were identified. This research contributes to the broader dialogue on the integration of digital media in language learning, highlighting that TikTok, while beneficial, requires strategic use to overcome its educational limitations. |
