Abstract: "ABSTRACT This study delves into the factors that influence non-English major students at Can Tho University to adopt AI tools for enhancing their English writing skills, utilizing a blend of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. The investigation identifies key drivers such as perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, social influence, and performance expectations. Students reported significant improvements in their writing attributed to AI tools, including enhanced grammar, enriched vocabulary, and better coherence in their texts, underscoring the tools’ effectiveness and efficiency. Furthermore, the influence of peers plays a crucial role, as students tend to adopt AI tools when they observe positive outcomes among classmates. However, the research also points out barriers like the complexity of some AI tools and initial resistance due to unfamiliarity, suggesting a need for educational strategies that integrate AI tools into curricula and provide adequate training and support. By addressing these barriers, educational institutions can foster a more conducive environment for the adoption of AI tools, enhancing student writing skills and academic performance. This study not only broadens the understanding of technology adoption in education but also offers practical insights for optimizing the use of AI tools in enhancing academic writing, thereby benefiting both educators and technology developers in tailoring their approaches to meet student needs effectively."
