Tóm tắt: | "This study provided an overview of students' perceptions of using ChatGPT in their English learning process and demonstrated the role of ChatGPT in planning and developing study plans. Two research questions were posed to address the objectives. Additionally, the results indicated that ChatGPT is merely a useful tool to support English learners; however, it cannot entirely replace traditional instructors. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative research methods to provide a comprehensive assessment. It utilized surveys and interviews as research tools. Surveys were distributed to 120 students were conducted with randomly selected students to gather data on their perceptions and thoughts. The research findings revealed that most students had similar perceptions of ChatGPT, affirming its benefits in grammar learning, vocabulary acquisition, and writing practice. However, there were diverse opinions regarding the role of ChatGPT in study plan development, with some fully agreeing and others completely disagreeing. Nevertheless, all students agreed that ChatGPT cannot replace human instructors; it can only be considered as a supplementary tool. The study also identified limitations of ChatGPT. It is expected that this research will provide students with a broader understanding of ChatGPT and how to incorporate it into their English learning journey.
