Abstract: The study aimed to determine specific activity of trypsin, chymotrypsin, pepsin, lipase and amylase of Redtail botia (Yasuhikotakia modesta) from hatching to 30 days post-hatch (DPH) to support for finding the appropriate timing for feeding processed food. Activity of trypsin (0.0039 U/mg protein),chymotrypsin (1.0930 U/mg protein), lipase (2.3677 U/mg protein), and amylase (1.9214 U/mg protein) are all detected immediately after hatching at the first day post-hatch. The gastric region appears, and trypsin also peaks (0.0076 U/mg protein) at 6 DPH. Chymotrypsin shows its highest activity at 2 DPH (1.9205 U/mg protein). The first development of gastric glands is recorded at 12 DPH. At the same time, pepsin is recorded (0.0421 U/mg protein) and lipase get the highest value with 3.6019 U/mg protein. From the 12 DPH, the larvae have developed all the necessary digestive enzymes. However, by the 18 DPH, these enzymes are fully matured, and their activity becomes stable from the 25 DPH onward with trypsin (0.0047 U/mg protein), chymotrypsin (1.6756 U/mg protein), pepsin (0.1830 U/mg protein), lipase (2.3323 U/mg protein) ,and amylase (2.1431 U/mg Protein).
