Abstract: | There is ongoing debate among academician and across various scientific disciplines regarding the concept of urban identity. The visual perception theory of imageability, pattern language theory, and psychological theories have all been employed by scholars to elucidate urban identity. In the interim, the basis for a comprehensive conceptual framework for urban identity has been established by social identity theory, self categorization theory, and identity process. This investigation is founded on the theory of environment behavior studies and serves as a framework for investigating urban identity in the context of the social, personal, and temporal dimensions of urban residents' perceptions. The research aids in the establishment of the urban identity of Dalat city by employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods. including Capture Evaluation Method survey (CEMs) and Group Focused Discussion (GFD). The results of the study identified 19 primary categories, each of which contained 93 specific elements. This information serves as a substantial scientific foundation for the determination of the theoretical framework of urban identity in Da Lat and for the direction of the city's planning and development. |
