Abstract: The shear stress at any point along the boundary of an open section can be determined by evaluating the shear flow integration from a free edge or zero surface to any surface. In the case of a closed cell, however, there is no free surface, making the problem indeterminate, and the integration cannot be used to calculate shear flow. While a general method to address this issue is developed by Ncal Solution, a digital computer program has been developed to calculate the shear flow for any cold formed sections, called NCFS (Ncal Cold-Formed Structure). The article presents how to determine the value of shear flow and the properties of arbitrary thin-walled section. based on the basic theory that determines the geometry of the discretion, the cut line theary calculated by Microsoft Excel, compared with the Thin Wall 2 software from Australia the CUFSM from the US, and the NCFS v2.0 software developed by NCal Solution from Vietnam to simplify for the user, to meet the need for optimum as well as aesthetic for the construction work.
