Solutions for foster Vietnam's forest carbon market

Abstract

The forest carbon market (FCM) is a crucial mechanism for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and generating sustainable financial resources from forests. Therefore, Vietnam is in the process of building and developing its FCM. However, Vietnam is facing several challenges, such as a lack of complete legal frameworks, inefficient measurement and monitoring systems, and a limited number of forest carbon credit projects. This paper analyzes the current situation, the difficulties, and barriers to the development of the FCM, and proposes solutions to foster the FCM in Vietnam.
