Abstract: This paper demonstrates the application of the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) approach to solve the Multi-Objective Optimization Problem (MOOP) related to a two-stage helical gearbox. The goal is to determine the most effective primary design factors that will improve gearbox efficiency and reduce gearbox length. This study specifically chose three crucial design parameters: the gear ratio of the first stage, and the coefficients of wheel face width (CWFW) for both the first and second stages. Furthermore, the inten-tional choice of the SAW technique as a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method was made in order to tackle the difficulty of multi-objective optimization. In addition, the Multi-Expert Ranking Evaluation with Compensation (MEREC) technique was selected for calculating the weight criterion. The study's findings aid in determining optimal values for three important design parameters in the creation of a two-stage helical gearbox.
