This study reviews past and current research on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to determine the optimal design for a miniature air vehicle (MAV) intended for operation in confined spaces. By comparing various design concepts, we identify the flapping-wing configuration as the most suitable for our application. We then explore the fundamentals of flapping flight, including wing kinematics and unsteady aerodynamic mechanisms. Our proposed wing kinematics, inspired by hummingbirds, incorporate lift-enhancing aerodynamic effects such as the Wagner effect and the added mass effect. Lastly, an analysis of existing flapping MAVs and NAVs, based on their actuators and structural designs, guides our selection of the most appropriate MAV configuration.vi_VN
