Abstract: | "This study explores English Major students’ (EM students) perceptions and practices on using Critical Thinking skills in literature review writing at Can Tho University (CTU). A qualitative survey design was employed, involving 15 final-year EM students at CTU. The findings reveal that while participants recognized the importance of Critical Thinking, they faced challenges such as content complexity, synthesis difficulty, and depth of analysis, often due to their status as EFL learners. Educational influences, such as teacher guidance, were identified as key facilitators. The study offers practical implications for enhancing Critical Thinking instruction in academic writing for EM students.
