Abstract

This thesis explores the development of a social media platform using the MERN stack, which consists of MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. The study focuses on the core components required for building a social media application, including user authentication (sign up, login, logout), post creation, user interaction features (like, comment, follow), notifications, and real-time messaging. The platform aims to connect users with similar interests by allowing them to share content and interact with each other. By leveraging the capabilities of the MERN stack, the thesis demonstrates how these technologies can be used to build a fully functional, responsive, and scalable social media application that fosters online engagement and community building. This research provides insights into the development process of modern social media platforms and highlights the role of contemporary web technologies in creating dynamic user experiences.
