| dc.description.abstract | The population dynamics and growth patterns of the broadhead sleeper (Eleotris melanosoma) were investigated in the Can Tho River, Vietnam, from July 2024 to July 2025. A total of 2,283 individuals were collected to assess length-weight relationships and growth parameters. The length-weight relationship exhibited positive allometric growth and the results show that b value in male (3.26) larger than female (3.24). The results show that population parameters were different among the analytical methods and between genders. Among the methods, K-scan and Genetic algorithm provided reasonable results. Additional data from age estimation and the relationship between L and Lmax provided useful guide for choosing the best models. Regarding the Lm, the method of length frequency analysis provided reasonable results compared to the gill surface area due to capability of air-breathing of this species. Eleotris melanosoma has been little over exploitation. In order to get good estimation of population parameters, researchers need to understand biological aspects of target species. | vi_VN |
