DEVELOPING A SOCIAL NETWORK FOR CULINARY ENTHUSIASTS

Abstract

The rapid growth of social media has changed how people share information and connect online; however, most existing platforms are not specifically designed for cooking enthusiasts. Traditional recipe websites mainly focus on content storage, while general social networks mix culinary content with unrelated topics and lack cooking-oriented features. This creates a gap for a dedicated social networking platform that supports both culinary content sharing and meaningful social interaction. This thesis presents the development of a social network for culinary enthusiasts that enables users to create and view posts, like content, share short-term stories, connect with others through friend and follow features, exchange private messages, search for users, and manage personal profiles. The system is built using modern web technologies to ensure performance, scalability, and usability. The results show that the platform effectively supports community interaction within a cookingfocused environment and provides a solid foundation for future improvements and feature expansion.
