ESIGN OF A SECOND-HAND GOODS TRADING APPLICATION

Abstract

Nowadays, many individuals, especially students, often need tobuyorsellsecond-hand items such as desks, mirrors, study materials, or textbooks, particularlyin situations like moving to a new dormitory or clearing out a room. Onsocialmedia platforms such as Facebook or Zalo, especially in student groups, it iscommon to see posts looking for specific textbooks or attempting to sell uniformspurchased in the wrong size. Many of these items are often discardeddespitestillhaving value to others, leading to wasted resources and unnecessary expenses. To address this issue, this thesis develops the Design of a Second-HandGoodsTrading Application called Circlo , a mobile system that provides a convenient andefficient environment for buying and selling second-hand items. The applicationisbuilt using React Native, Firebase as a NoSQL database for real-timedatamanagement and user authentication, and Cloudinary for secure and reliableimagestorage. It offers essential features such as posting items for sale, quicklysearchingfor desired products, and an integrated online chat function for directcommunication between buyers and sellers. By promoting the reuse of items, theapplication not only helps users reduce costs but also contributes to environmentalprotection and encourages sustainable consumption. With these combinedtechnologies and features, the system supports both students and thebroadercommunity in accessing and sharing resources more efficiently, fosteringacultureof reuse and sustainability in everyday life.
