DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A BUS TICKET BOOKING WEBSITE

Abstract

The rapid growth of online services has transformed the way users search for information and complete daily transactions. In the transportation sector, traditional ticket booking methods still cause several difficulties, such as long waiting times, limited access to schedules, and a lack of real-time seat availability. To address these limitations, this thesis presents the design and implementation of a web-based bus ticket booking system that provides a convenient, efficient, and user-friendly solution for passengers and system administrators. The proposed system is developed using modern web technologies, including a responsive Vue.js frontend, a robust Node.js/Express backend, and a relational database for managing users, bus routes, buses, and bookings. Key features of the system include user authentication, route searching, seat selection, ticket reservation, booking management, and an admin dashboard for managing operational data. The architecture was designed following modular and scalable principles to ensure maintainability and future extensibility
