DEVELOPING AN ONLINE TAXI BOOKING PLATFORM IN AN GIANG

Abstract

In recent years, the demand for taxi services in An Giang province has increased significantly, especially in urban areas and inter-district routes. However, most taxi services in the region still operate using traditional methods, primarily through direct phone calls. Although some companies have introduced mobile applications, the requirement to install the app often causes inconvenience for many users, especially infrequent customers and elderly passengers. Observations also show that taxi services accessed through simple websites with calling features still attract a large number of users, indicating a strong demand for online taxi booking solutions in An Giang. Based on this reality, this thesis proposes the development of an online taxi booking system designed to better suit user behavior and local service conditions. The system allows users to request taxi services directly through the website without needing to install additional applications, while providing essential features such as booking, fare estimation, and journey tracking. In addition, the system supports operators with tools for user management, data reporting, and operational monitoring. By applying modern web technologies, the proposed solution aims to improve accessibility, transparency, and efficiency in taxi services in An Giang province. The results show that the online taxi booking system is a practical and feasible method, contributing to the digital transformation of local transportation services and having the potential for future expansion.
