Context and Problem: The rapid advancement of image editing tools and artificial intelligence has made image forgery increasingly sophisticated, posing severe threats to media, security, and legal systems. Consequently, developing accurate and reliable methods to detect manipulated images, such as Copy-Move and Splicing, is highly essential. Proposed Method: This thesis proposes a unified forgery detection framework based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). Instead of using standard color images, the study employs Error Level Analysis (ELA) to highlight compression artifacts and inconsistencies, serving as the direct input for deep learning models. Experiments were conducted on the CASIA v2.0 dataset to train and evaluate five different architectures: a custom CNN, VGG19, ResNet50, EfficientNet-B0, and MobileNetV2. Achieved Results: Experimental results demonstrate that MobileNetV2 achieved the best overall performance, attaining an Accuracy of 91.02%, an F1-score of 90.80%, and the highest AUC of 0.9725. Conclusion: Utilizing ELA representations as input enables CNN models to effectively and simultaneously detect both Copy-Move and Splicing manipulations within a unified framework, without requiring separate training branches. These findings confirm the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed approach for digital image forgery detection. |
