Traditional monolithic architecture - where the entire application is bundled into a single block - increasingly reveals its weaknesses as systems scale. Modifying a small module can force the entire service to stop, causing long downtime and cascading risks if an error occurs in any part. In contrast, microservices divide the application into independent services, allowing each part to be developed, deployed, and scaled individually with optimal technologies, delivering superior flexibility for modern web systems. Containerization, exemplified by Docker, has become the "common language" for this trend by packaging code along with all dependencies into lightweight, portable units that move seamlessly between dev, test, and production environments without conflicts. However, when microservices environments spawn hundreds of parallel containers, manual management quickly turns chaotic: tracking resources, load balancing, fault detection, and version updates become operational nightmares. This is when the need for an intelligent orchestration system becomes critical, automating every process to ensure performance and reliability. Kubernetes (K8s) is the breakthrough solution to this challenge. K8s not only manages containers but also builds a true cloud-native platform: from self-healing that automatically replaces failed pods to autoscaling based on real-time load, enabling systems to handle traffic spikes without collapsing. Before K8s, DevOps teams struggled with manual instance replication or load balancer configuration - tasks now abstracted through Deployment, Service, and HPA, saving time and significantly reducing human error. Applying this trend in practice, the healthcare appointment registration website - a microservices system for intelligent clinic management - faces overload risks as user numbers surge, such as during peak appointment booking or medical result lookup periods. A simple monolithic application might crash entirely if a subsystem is overloaded, while with microservices, numerous containers need scaling to maintain continuous service; without specialized orchestration, operations teams risk constant manual interventions, leading to prolonged downtime and loss of patient trust. Thus, the topic “Healthcare Appointment Registration System - Infrastructure Management Subsystem Using Kubernetes” emerges as a tailored internal solution, transforming a K8s cluster into a reliable hosting platform for a healthcare appointment system. The system focuses on building an intuitive dashboard, Hệ thống đăng ký khám bệnh phân hệ quản trị hạ tầng cơ sở bằng Kubernetes 4 enabling non-expert users like technicians to create and manage core K8s abstractions with just a few clicks: Deployment for application rollouts, Service/Ingress for traffic routing, Horizontal Pod Autoscaler for automatic pod scaling based on CPU/load, ConfigMap/Secret for secure configuration injection, and PersistentVolume for durable medical data. This dashboard not only shortens deployment time but also sends immediate alerts if pods fail or nodes go down, allowing teams to respond before end-users notice issues. Within the thesis scope, the system is designed for an on-premise environment, enabling: • Kubernetes cluster installation via Ansible: setting up containerd, kubeadm, kubelet; initializing the Control Plane; automatically joining Worker Nodes; installing Calico CNI, Metrics Server, MetalLB, and StorageClass; adding/removing nodes from the cluster. • Monitoring and deploying Kubernetes resources like Pod, Deployment, Service, ConfigMap, Ingress, PV/PVC. Viewing logs and node consumption levels. • Deploying the entire Healthcare Appointment Registration System (identity service, appointment service, medical service, etc.) onto a live K8s cluster.
