| Abstract: | "Learner-Centered Activities (LCAs) have been proven to enhance students’ academic performance and learning outcomes. Furthermore, some studies indicate that these activities also have positive impacts on students’ Social-Emotional Competencies (SECs). However, there is a lack of research examining this aspect within the Vietnamese context. Therefore, this study investigated the perceptions of Vietnamese English as a Foreign Language (EFL) pre-service teachers regarding the positive impacts of LCAs on their SECs. Participants completed a questionnaire assessing their frequency of LCAs participation and their perceptions of the activities' positive effects. The findings revealed that these activities indeed have a positive influence on their SECs. Based onthese results, Vietnamese EFL pre-service teachers and lecturers should consider implementing these activities to foster their students’ SECs, while also finding ways to adjust the less common activities based on their school context. Additionally, school administrators or language educators can create more flexible schedules or offer training programs to enhance LCA implementation and draw attention to the importance of SECs in education." |
