TEACHING AND LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE CENTERS

Abstract

In the context of the ongoing digital transformation in education, English language centers are increasingly adopting management systems to improve teaching efficiency, student management, and operational processes. However, many centers still rely on traditional management methods or fragmented software solutions, resulting in difficulties in course management, teaching assignment, learning progress tracking, and the organization of examinations and student assessments. To address these challenges, this thesis develops an English Language Center Teaching and Learning Management System, which provides a centralized platform to comprehensively support educational and administrative activities. The system is developed as a modern web application using ASP.NET Core Web API for the backend, React for the frontend, and Microsoft SQL Server as the database management system. It incorporates JWT Authentication for user authentication and authorization, SignalR for real-time notifications, Hangfire for background job processing, MinIO for document and multimedia storage, and FFmpeg for video processing and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS). In addition, the system supports importing examination content from PDF, Microsoft Word files; manages learning materials across the four core language skills—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing; facilitates online examinations and competitions; and provides reports and statistical dashboards for monitoring students' learning progress. The developed system successfully integrates teaching, learning, examination, competition, and administrative management into a unified web platform. Functional testing demonstrates that all core modules operate correctly, enabling efficient course management, online assessments, learning progress tracking, and real-time communication. The proposed system reduces manual administrative effort, improves operational efficiency, and provides a scalable foundation for future integration of intelligent educational features.
