The thesis proposes the creation of a vertical scrolling shooter named "Phantasma," which would be developed using the Touhou Danmakufu ph3 engine. The main point of the project would be to examine the usage of complex mathematical algorithms and software architecture patterns in the generation of complex interactive media software with higher performance capabilities. The proposed architecture of the system would be designed as a modular component-based architecture that uses Finite State Machines to control the artificial intelligence of the enemies and the Task-based Concurrency Model to control the thousands of objects in the background. The project is a successful implementation of a complete gameplay cycle with a general player character and two different Boss battles, each showing certain unique technical concepts. “Boss Celina” relies on trigonometric calculations and multithreading processing for a complicated geometric design, while for “Boss Aidan” it is a demonstration of a Procedural Content Generation Process and Physics Simulation via vector mathematics and rotation matrices for dynamic shapes of projectiles.vi_VN
