Abstract: Trong bối cảnh già hóa dân số tại Việt Nam, sự cô đơn ở người cao tuổi (NCT) đang trở thành một vấn đề xã hội đáng quan tâm khi khoảng cách giữa các thế hệ ngày càng gia tăng, làm giảm sự gắn kết giữa ông bà và con cháu trong nhiều gia đình. Against the backdrop of population aging in Vietnam, loneliness among the elderly is emerging as a pressing social issue, driven by a widening generational gap that increasingly weakens the bond between grandparents and grandchildren within many families. Driven by this reality, this study, entitled “Communication Campaign to Raise Youth Awareness of Loneliness Among the Elderly” investigates the phenomenon of elderly loneliness through the lens of social communication, while designing a targeted campaign for youth aged 18–25. The campaign enables young people to better recognize the signs and impacts of loneliness, alongside the psychological needs of older adults. Furthermore, it highlights the profound importance of emotional connection to the mental well-being of the elderly, thereby fostering empathy and prompting the youth to re-evaluate the value of simple, everyday interactions with their grandparents. The empirical implementation yielded valuable survey responses alongside a structured system of posts accompanied by diverse digital media assets. Comprehensive outcomes demonstrate that the campaign successfully reached its target audience aged 18–25, garnering positive engagement and feedback from the community. Notably, this was highlighted by a viral video amassing over 20,000 views and sparking authentic reflections in the comments. The media products, action-oriented posts, and calls to action demonstrate a strong capacity to reshape youth perception, thereby contributing to a shift in awareness regarding elderly loneliness—the fundamental cornerstone for driving positive behavioral changes. Keywords: Population aging, Elderly loneliness, Social media communication, Intergenerational connection, Youth awareness, Digital media campaign.
