This study evaluated of SCD from Enteromorpha intestinalis in order to develop the suitable diet for Artemia culture and reducing the dependence on microalgae and the effects of selected SCD diet on survival rate, growth performance and reproductive characteristics of Artemia franciscana under laboratory conditions. Artemia were fed with 5 different diets, and each diet has three replications. Commercial feed was the control, and 4 diets in which the shrimp feed was replaced by SCD with proportion of 100, 75, 50 and 25%. The diet with 100% shrimp food gave the best result of reproduction (89.53 ± 15.12 offsprings/female) of Artemia, but the replacement of 25% SCD showed the positive results in fecundity of Artemia (78.07 ± 8.81 offsprings/female). In term of growth of Artemia, the replacement of 25% SCD showed the best result in 14 day of the experiment (10.31±0.02 mm). The findings showed that the diet with 25% SCD should be studied more to apply for feeding Artemia or filter feeders.vi_VN
