Abstract: | A study on fish species composition, and growth biology characteristics of Osteogeneiosus militaris was done from February to September 2019 in Bay Hap River, Ca Mau province. Fishes composition and Osteogeneiosus militaris sample were collected mainly by bag net, and push net. The samples were collected one time a month. Results showed that were 36 species of 20 families, 6 orders. In there, the Peciformes dominates with 18 species (50%), the following is Clupeiformes with 7 species (19.4%). Beloniformes with 5 species (13.9%), and the rest accounted for the total proportion (16.7%). By nonlinear regression method determined the closed relationship between length (L) and weight (W) of through the equation of the correlation length (L) and weight (W) some species have economic value: Osteogeneiosus militaris which is W=0.0042 L 3.1973, R2=0.9916. The growth parameters were determined by the ELEFAN method that is apply for Non seasonal growth curves. Maximum asymptotic length L∞= 38.74 cm, growth coefficency K= 0.79/year and t0= - 0.3/year. The growth performance index was estimated as 3.28. In general, fish species composition in Bay Hap River diverse, growth biology characteristics of fish develops naturally. There need more study about fishes species composition by using others fishing gears. Besides, study more growth biology of Soldier catfish in long time to have information that will be useful for deriving future sustainable management and conservation strategies. |
