This study compared several morphological characteristics and reproductive biology of two fresh-water snail species, Pila globosa (Pg) and Pila polita (Pp).The colors of the snail shells change over the stages in their life. In the height group <30mm, Pg and Pp show green-yellow and green-dark color, besides that the height group >30mm, Pg shell is brown-yellow and Pp is green-dark color. Pg and Pp show a close correlation between morphological characteristics such as shell height with shell width, shell height with total weight or shell height with meat weight (p<0.05). Results of broodstock conditoning and observations of some reproductive biology characteristics of two speices showed that the weight and diameter of snail eggs, shell height and weight of newly hatched snails onl from Pila polita. Pila globosa snail is very sensitive to environmental fluctuations, capturing snails from the wild and transporting them to the hatchery conditions may have bad affected on snails and it’s necessary to conduct further studies to acclimate and improve survival rate of this species.vi_VN
