dc.description.abstractIn this research, a Fuji programmable logic controller (PLC) prescribed in Structured Text program was used to contract the controller for deep-sinking electro-discharge machine (EDM) which has high speed-drilling EDM function. In order to erode a blind hole with the accurate depth, the wear compensation was constructed. After deep-sinking eroding, the surface quality of the side wall of the drilled hole could be improved by a radial approach discharging method. For the purpose of achieving the working goal, the controller included the gap sensor, electrode compensation, interpolator, position control, and parameter transmission I/O logic control. On a personal computer (PC), a human-machine interface was established the by using Visual Basic in order to operate the EDM, which could transfer the block parameters to PLC. Finally, this control system was equipped on the deep-drilling EDM and actual processing and its functions were tested. Final results shown the dimension and roughness of the deep hole could be obtained by doing experiment on proposed EDM.vi_VN
