Abstract: Nephrotic syndrome in children is traditionally classified according to the standard steroid treatment response, and in Vietnamese children about 12.4% of cases are steroid resistant. Currently, more than 24 genes have been associated with nephrotic syndrome in children, with three, NPHS1, NPHS2 and WT1, having a major impact on steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome. This study aims to investigate NPHS2 variants in different nephrotic syndrome groups defined as steroid sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS), steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS).
