Abstract: | Backyard chicken farming is one of the most important and popular form of animal breeding in rural areas in Vietnam associated with wet-rice civilization. Through a long doinestication process, local chicken breeds with valuable quality properties (delicious meat, good disease resistance) were gradually formed and selected. Due to the introgression of exotic breeds into Vietnamese chicken gene pool, there were urgent demands for investigating and preserving of genetic resources of the valueable indigenous chicken breeds. |
