Abstract: This paper proposes the way to solve the optimization problem of random variable cross-sectional beams and different boundary conditions by strength and stiffness criteria. The optimization problem is solved by Lagrange multiplier method. The procedure of calculation of optimization process is established and implemented by MathCad calculation programming software.
