Cao Van water reservoir is a raw water resource for Dien Vong water treatment plant. For enhancement of safe water supply, the eutrophication of Cao Van resevoir is excessively investigated. Water quality was measured in an accordance with the analysis from three sampling points in Cao Van Reservior and data from Dien Vong water treatment plant. Due to the weather and operational conditions, water quality has slightly changed at the end of the reservoir. The results showed a relative stable water quality in terms of total phosphorus. Chlorophyll a, and the Secchi transparency. In addition, trophic state index was also evaluated with a total value of 57.25. As figured out from Vollenweider model, surface loading of phosphorus was obtained at 1,181 mgP/rrr.yr and was as double as critical loading of phosphorus Lc. Regarding these, Cao Van resesevoir is currently being eutrophic. This result therefore confirms a necessity of the control and removal methods for algal blooming in the reservoir, aiming at sufficient water supply in Dien Vong Water treatment plant and at safe water supply in urban areas.vi_VN
