Abstract: Porous nanosilica has been identified as an outstanding candidate for controlled drug delivery. However, unmodified PNS-based carriers usually exhibited an initial release of loaded bioactive agents, which may limit their potential clinical applications. In this study, the surface of porous nanosilica was bonded with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane for Doxorubicin delivery. The modified PNS was successfully formed with spherical shape and diameter around 70 nm determined by Transmission Electron Microscopy. Drug loading and release behaviors of Doxorubicin/ Porous nanosilica-3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, in particular, were also tested. This study is expected to improve the stability of PNS for drug delivery system in cancer therapy.
