A magnetite-graphene oxide nanocomposite for biological applications was successfully synthesized. The nanocomposite composed of nanosized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs), graphene oxide (GO) and matodextrin as a biocompatible polymer matrix. Structural and physico-chemical properties of the nanocomposite were analyzed by XRD, FT-IR, TEM and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). TEM images showed that SPlONs had an average diameter size of about 10 nm and VSM results showed superparamagnetic behavior. SPIONs was well dispersed in the presence of GO and maltodextrin. Drug loading and drug release tests showed high loading efficiency of rutin onto SPIONs/GO and quite fast release of rutin in PBS solution at pH value of 7.4.vi_VN
