The Analytic Approach Applications in Green Supplier Selection: A Literature Review

Abstract

In recent years, green factors which are concentrated on environment awareness and sustainable development of enterprises have been being become vital criteria of selecting a supplier. This paper reviews the literature of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) applications in green supplier selection by analysing 36 related papers which were published in the high prestige journals from 2002 to 2014. Those papers are compiled and categorized according to business areas; namely, energies, materials, consumer discretionary, consumer staples, and so forth. The aims of this investigation are to focus on the facilitation of AHP/ANP in terms of green supplier selection process and its application in business fields as well as the successful factors of its implementation. In addition, the review is implemented to facilitate researchers and practitioners in embracing the analytic approach applications in green supplier selection.
