Silicon Carbide (SiC) was synthesized from Vietnamese rice husk ash and diatomite via the Acheson process in a graphite electric arc furnace. In this type of furnace, are current generates temperature and therefore effect on the formation of SiC. The influence of are current at 100, 150 and 200 A was investigated. Scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy, XRD and Raman spectroscopy were performed to analyze the information of SiC materials. Results showed the weight percentage of SiC in the synthesized product increased as the are current increased.vi_VN
