Abstract: Mathematics education students in School of Education - Can Tho University (Vietnam) have had opportunities to learn how to use analogical reasoning in teaching mathematics.The question is: "Do the students prefer to select analogy as strategy for teaching mathematics?" The results of the investigation of 52 mathematics education students showed that the students paid little attention to applying analogy to teaching mathematics.
