dc.description.abstractDual-release tablets of lornoxicam (LNX) were formulated and prepared with a sustained release matrix ofMethocel K4M and Methocel E15LV, and a fast release coating layer of calcium carbonate. The fast release layer (of calcium carbonate) was coated on the obtained sustained release tablets by dry compression. Calcium carbonate, Methocel K4M and Methocel E15LV as the designed critical influential factors on the drug release were evaluated after 2, 4, 8and lOhours. The release rate of LNX from the optimally formulated dual-released lornoxicam tablets (12 mg) containing Methocel K4M -13.26 mg and Methocel E15LV-14.90 mg, calcium carbonate -10.88 mg well met the predetermined requirements: 35.32%; 60.98%; 90.47% and 97.07% after 2 hrs, 4 hrs, 8 hrs and 10 hrs, respectively.vi_VN
