Research on refractive errors of students has been carried out on 1,499 students at Pham Hong Thai Secondary School in Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province. The results show that percentage of students with refractive errors is relatively high at 44.9 %. The highest rate of refractive error is short-sighted error at 91.6%, followed by astigmatism 62.5% and the lowest rate of long-sighted one at 579%. Also, the results show the strong coưelation between duration and posture of watching television, using computers and telephone and reading books with refractive index. In addition, if the parents have refractive errors, their children are at risk for high refractive errors. Fluorescent lamps are not good for student’s learning because they also cause students with refractive errors. In addition, it is recommended that students should improve their physical training and outdoor activities to protect their eyes and reduce the incidence of refractive errors.vi_VN
