The process of cultural exchange between the Vietnamese and the Chinese began quite early in history. Archaeological artifacts found in Vietnam, for example ancient Wu Zhu cash coins, prove that there were commercial activities long ago among Vietnamese and Chinese merchants. One of the conditions promoting the Chinese-Vietnamese cultural exchange is geographical location. The habitats of Vietnamese and Chinese residents are quite close, facilitating the cultural exchange between the two communities which has taken place continuously and gradually over historical periods.vi_VN
