Abstract: | In July 2016, we invited scholars, artists, poets, and writers to retrieve and/or reflect on a history of the textured relationships that Kashmiris shared across religious communities prior to 1989, a date widely framed in Kashmiri popular history and memory as the moment when communitarian relationships in the Kashmir Valley underwent a radical shift. A selection of these narratives is presented below. A contextual analysis of these narratives is presented in the accompanying article. |
