How to Promote ESG Investment in Vietnam

Abstract

Despite of the demand for ESG investment is growing around the world and ESG investment is associ- ated with greater profitability, ESG is on a very early step in Vietnam. Most of Vietnamese companies do not consider ESG factors on their activities. A lack of understanding of the importance of ESG investment among companies, investors and policymakers still remains. In order to grasp this trend, understanding of ESG investment and the way in which companies can utilized ESG factor is critical. This paper gives an overvievv about ESG, the facts of ESG in the world, some experiences in other countries and policy recom-mendations for Vietnamese government to seize this trend.
