dc.description.abstract | Geosynthetics have been widely used as a specific reinforcement in order to support embankments constructed in areas subject to localized sinkholes. Well known for economic and environmental benefits, the solution works based on several mechanisms such as soil expansion, the effect of membrane and friction, and load transfer. However, the existing design methods are based on simple assumptions or even ignore the effect of the arches acting within the soil, which causes the load transfer mechanisms. | vi_VN |
