Stimulating reproduction of striped banđed catfish(Mystus mysticetus)

Abstract

The research topic Stimulating reproduction of Striped banded catfish (Mystus mysticetus) was conducted in February 2022 at the freshwater aquaculture wet laboratory – Cantho University. The results have shown that stimulating reproduction with LHRHa combined with Domperidone (DOM) and HCG both give very positive results. Ovulation rate was 60% treatment using LHRH + DOM with dose 100μg and treatment using HCG with dose 3000 IU was 90%. The fertilization rate of treatment using LHRH combined with DOM with a dose of 100μg was only 71.77 ± 0,2 % and the highest fertilization rate was 76.15 ± 0,5% of treatment using HCG dose 3000 UI. The hatching rate of both treatments used LHRH combined with DOM and HCG were quite low, in particular, when used LHRH combined with DOM with a dose of 100μg, the hatching rate was only 24.7 ± 0,2 % while using HCG dose 3000 UI, the hatching rate was 26.81 ± 0,6%. It is worth mentioning here, that when checking treatment using PG there is no female response, and the ovulation rate is zero.
