Study on some biological characterristics of Pangasius macronema

Abstract

The thesis “Study on some biological characteristics of Pangasisus macronema” was conducted from March to November 2018 at College of aquaculture and fisheries. The objective of the study was to collect some basic data on the biological characteristics of Pangasius macronema to provide parameters for the developmental and protective solutions of the resource of P. macronema.The samples of study were collected in 9 months with 30 individuals per each month in Hau River. The weight of fish was from 2.5 to 25.1 gram/ind, the length was 5.6 to 17 cm/ind. The research results identified the equation of fish growth is � = 0.5849�1.3029, with a correlation coefficient �2 = 0.8155. The correlation between the length of gut and body length is 1.46. The food of fish includes artificial feed (33.03%), rice shell (21.73%), leftovers (14.64%), scale of fish (14.57%), small shrimp (5.73%), insect (5.11%), small snail (2.43%), zooplankton (0.21%). The GSI could not determine because the fish were not mature yet.
