Among different algae species which were feeding for Artemia, Bacillariophyceae was the most important species. The objective of this study was to investigate the optimal salinity for the best growth of Bacillariophyceae that was derived from wild algae in the coastal of Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province, Vietnam. The research was carried out in the laboratory at five different salinity, including 20 ppt, 30 ppt, 40 ppt, 50 ppt, 60 ppt. Each treatment has three replications. After 10 days, the results showed that the density of Bacillariophyceae at treatment 50 ppt reached the highest density at 7th day (5.89 ± 1.67 million cells/mL). However, at treatment 60 ppt reached highest wild algae density (11.01 ± 1.54 million cells/mL). The result showed that Bacillariophyta grow well at a salinity of 20-60 ppt. However, at 50 ppt and 60 ppt showed higher densities than other salinity (20 ppt, 30 ppt, 40 ppt).vi_VN
