Study the relationship between the settlement of single pile and pile group

Abstract

The prediction of pile group settlement is always a difficult task. The empirical method, Vesic (1977), is widely used in Vietnam because of its simplicity and easy to application. However, some studies have shown that to use Vesic’s method in Vietnam condition need some adjustments. Within this paper, the authors use the SDF method to calculate with many cases of pile group taking into account the influence of factors such as pile distance, pile diameter, load ... on the settlement of single pile and pile group. Based on linear correlation, is adjusted the Vesic's formula.
