Today, the application of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in education is becoming increasingly popular due to its various benefits. The purpose of this study was to explore high school students’ perceptions of Kahoot! on high school students’ interest and vocabulary retention. The study was conducted with the participation of an 11th-grade English class in Chau Van Liem high school in Can Tho with the support from 37 participants. The questionnaire was delivered for collecting data after the participants’ experiencing Kahoot! games in 4 weeks. The quantitative data was entered into the SPSS version 20.0 for data analysis. The results indicate that the majority of participants in the experimental group held positive evaluation of learning and improving their interests, vocabulary retention via Kahoot! games. Conversely, a few students constantly facing technical obstacles complained of unresponsive screen as a serious issue which diminished their interest as well as a sense of vocabulary retention in learning English. The researcher suggests that further studies in this area should consider a larger sample size and quantitative approaches to obtain a better picture of reality of the effect of Kahoot! games on students’ interest and vocabulary retention.vi_VN
