Title: High School Students’ Perceptions on their Using Reading Learning Strategies

Abstract: The aims of this study were investigating high school students’ perceptions on reading learning strategies and possible gender differences in their reading strategy use. Because of the disease of coronavirus 19, this was a quantitative research design with an online survey questionnaire as the instrument. Thirty-seven students from Nguyen Viet Dung High School completed the questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS program, version 20. The results of this study indicated that high school students were aware of using reading strategies and they used the strategies at a high frequency level. Global reading strategies were used with the highest tendency. However, there was no significant difference in the use of each strategy category between two genders although female students tended to use reading learning strategies more often than their counterparts in all categories and individual strategies. Based on the findings, pedagogical implications and suggestions for future research were made.
