Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the use of games in teaching grammar for tenth graders at Binh Thuy High School in Can Tho city. The focus of this research was the advantages of teaching and learning grammar through playing games, and the suggestion about some games for teaching grammar in class. To achieve the aim of this study, the researcher adopted the survey research. A total of 76 students studying at Binh Thuy High School in Can Tho city, Vietnam participated in the study. The population of the study was students in grade 10 in the second period in the academic year 2019 / 2020. The questionnaires were constructed to the students to collect data. All students were volunteered to do the survey. I assure the privacy of students will be highly confidential and only be used for this research. Data were collected using the following instruments: a questionnaire on the benefits of using games in teaching grammar for the tenth graders in Binh Thuy High School. The collected data were investigated and treated statistically through the utilization of SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The findings indicated that using games in teaching grammar contains a lot of advantages. Especially, language games can help students in building a relationship with the new language. In light of these findings, the study recommended that games should be utilized in teaching English to form better outcomes in students' achievement of English. Besides, the researcher suggested that further research should be conducted on the effects of games on different English skills, and other school subjects as well.
